Guided tours

Gain extraordinary insights and views into the award-winning architecture of the SANAA building in Essen next to the UNSECO World Heritage Zollverein. Let our guides lead you through the building and discover your surroundings anew!

• Duration: approx. 60 minutes
• Start: 2.30 p.m.
• Meeting point: entrance area/reception on the ground floor of the SANAA building
• Cost: 10 € per person

Guided tours are paid for on invoice or in cash.

Studying at the Folkwang University of the Arts means studying in a special place: in listed buildings, centuries and millennia old, in the middle of the Ruhr region. This is especially true of the Essen-Werden campus. The university’s headquarters reside in the baroque building of the Benedictine Abbey, whose foundation walls date back to the year 799 AD. Here, in the idyllically situated Ruhr Valley in the south of Essen, instrumental training, composition, church music, singing, conducting, music education, musicology, teaching, dance, choreography, kinetography-laban, acting, acting-directing and physical theatre (formerly pantomime) are taught. Doctorates are also possible.
